Storing rainwater in cisterns can represent savings of up to 50% in water consumption, in addition to being an ecologically conscious attitude. Instead of wasting drinking water, you use reused water to wash your car, the sidewalk, water plants and even flush toilets.
However, care must be taken to ensure that reused water is not contaminated by bacteria and insects, such as the mosquito that transmits dengue fever, zika virus and chikungunya. To do this, you need to install a filter in your rainwater tank.
Tecnotri offers Smart Filtro, a compact filtration system that is easy to install and adapts to any model of cistern. There are 4 filtration stages that protect reused water against contamination.
How Smart Filter Works
The water that comes from the gutter initially passes through a leaf filter and then goes to the decanter, which eliminates the impurities brought in with the first few minutes of rainwater. This water is slowly discarded through a valve.
As the decanter fills, the water reaches the reservoir inlet level and passes through the fine filter, which retains the material that was not eliminated by the decanter and protects against insects. The water then passes through the chlorinator, preventing the formation of microorganisms and keeping the water preserved.
With this process, the water in your cistern is 4 times filtered and guaranteed against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, germs and bacteria.
