With the mission of implementing systems for rainwater capture in Shelters for Needy Young People, the “Sustainable Shelters” project brings ecological education and makes the rational use of drinking water possible for young people in the communities.
The partnership between TECNOTRI / ENGENHEIROS SEM FRONTEIRAS NÚCLEO RIO DE JANEIRO once again bore excellent fruit this week with the installation of four more cisterns for rainwater harvesting, at ABRIGO BEIJA-FLOR in Austin, Municipality of Nova Iguaçu-RJ

The institution houses 31 children and adolescents aged between 1 and 18 who lived in risk situations. Referred by the children’s court and the guardianship council, these children have already suffered domestic violence or neglect and are welcomed at ABRIGO as a protective measure under the ECA (Child and Adolescent Statute).
In addition to the children, there are also 16 other people living at Abrigo Beija-flor, including employees and interns who help keep the entity running.
Small collaborative and sustainable actions like these have made a big difference in the lives of people, the community and the planet.
