Always looking for new solutions to optimize logistics, Tecnotri has developed a new injected plastic pallet ideal for use in racking and automated storage and distribution systems.

Aimed at the most diverse sectors of the industry, the product brings benefits to the environment, from the manufacturing process to being recycled, presenting many benefits in relation to wooden pallets. In addition, it meets HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) hygiene requirements.

In this article, we will show the differences of the new injected plastic pallet. The product was presented during a meeting of Abralog’s Pharmaceutical Logistics Committee, held on 14/05.

The meeting of Abralog’s Pharmaceutical Logistics Committee, held on 05/14/2020, presented the new injected plastic pallet from Tecnotri, which is also associated with the entity.

At the event, a summary of the lecture “Sustainable management and risks in the medical, pharmaceutical and chemical supply chain”, given by Tatiane Ramos, was also shown. A member of the committee, she had given this talk at the end of April, virtually, to the School of Chemistry at the University of San Carlos, in Guatemala.

The presentation covered topics such as reverse logistics, pharmaceutical product legislation, pharmaceutical waste management, cost and risk reduction, implementation of projects and programs, good pharmaceutical practices, linear economics and pharmaceutical logistics.

Karine Parra, account executive at Tecnotri, explained some of the main advantages of injected pallets compared to wooden pallets. The injected plastic pallet is highly durable, easy to clean and lightweight. This makes handling much more practical, unlike wooden pallets. Furthermore, wooden pallets facilitate the proliferation of fungi and can cause additional complications, as they have nails and release splinters.

Tatiane Ramos also spoke about the concept of Green Supply Chain Management – whose aim is to minimize and eliminate negative effects on the environment. Furthermore, she discussed Sustainable Supply Chain Management – which is the company’s ability to plan, detect and recover from possible global risks.

Also participating in the meeting were Lisa Palla Tavolaro, from Thermo Fisher; Liana Montemor, from Grupo Polar; Renata Formoso, from Faxe Cargo; Leila Almeida, from Andreani Logística; Clayton Mangini, from the Racine Institute; Claudia Bovo, from Biotech; Mauro Henrique Pereira, from BX Log; and Arlete Gago, from Lifeconex.

Advantages of the new injected plastic pallet

Injected plastic pallets are resistant, non-toxic and with antimicrobial protection. Therefore, they meet the hygiene requirements of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). These products offer immunity against fungi and bacteria, due to the presence of antimicrobial additives, and UV-14 sun protection.

Wooden pallets facilitate the proliferation of fungi and bacteria, as they store water and waste. Furthermore, wood, being porous, is more difficult to wash and sanitize. In logistics operations, wooden pallets can also bring additional complications. This is because they have nails and release splinters, increasing the risk of accidents.

Resistant to temperature variations, plastic pallets are very robust, light, versatile and do not undergo changes in their weight and measurement characteristics. Furthermore, they are capable of withstanding environments with temperatures between +60° C and 40° C.

Learn about the benefits of plastic pallets for the environment

A big difference with plastic pallets is that they bring benefits to the environment, from the manufacturing process to recycling. After all, this product can be 100% reprocessed, using the same raw material. Therefore, it can be replaced for a lower value than the initial cost.
