A major agreement was signed on Wednesday afternoon (04/07) in the city of Americana – SP, which will enable the start of a large project for the collection and intelligent disposal of electronic waste, aerosols and medicines that have expired, in condominiums in the State of São Paulo.

A partnership between 4 companies in the sector made this project viable.

Objects such as: Cell Phone Batteries, Computer Keyboards, Video Monitors, Cables and other computer equipment, empty aerosol tubes and medicines that have expired will begin to be disposed of correctly and the winner is the environment.

Prolab (Reverse Logistics), Tecnotri (Containers Bins) and Waylix (Volume sensor platform), will join forces with Sindicond (Employer’s Union of Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Mixed Intermunicipal Buildings and Buildings of the State of São Paulo), joined together in this crusade.

According to estimates, Brazil generated around 1.4 million tons of electronic waste in 2017. Today Brazil is the largest producer of electronic waste in Latin America.

Nowadays, only 2% of discarded electronic material is correctly disposed of for recycling. The remainder continues to go to landfills, often irregularly, which will bring almost irreversible damage to the environment for future generations.

With this initiative, 100% of what is discarded in the condominiums under the jurisdiction of the Sindicond will have correct destination, with intelligent reverse logistics, that is, whenever the tecnotri containers are about to be filled at the collection points, The Waylix through its platform via APP, will contact the Prolab which in turn will arrange the removal of the waste. And so, the cycle of sustainability will continue firm and strong towards a better future for our children and grandchildren.

The initial pilot project will include one hundred condominiums in cities that are yet to be analyzed in the State of São Paulo.
