Installation of a water collection system carried out at the 25th Military Group of the Fire Department, in the Gávea neighborhood, is a pioneer in the history of Tecnotri.
Work that began last year with the donation and purchase of five Tecnotri Cisterns is now a reference in the sustainable use of rainwater. The partnership between Tecnotri and the Rio de Janeiro Fire Department is part of the Sustainable Barracks program, a project that aims to save resources and adopt more sustainable actions in the battalion, applying the Rule of 3 errors “R.R.R”, reuse, reduce and recycle.
Initially under the command of Colonel Tarciso Antonio de Salles Júnior, today general inspector of the Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the project is now led by the current commander of the 25th Battalion, Lieutenant. Cel. Luiz Henrique de Carvalho, with the participation of Captain Leonardo Pinho in coordination.
The installation of the Tecnotri Cisterns took place in an already existing area, at no additional cost to the battalion. The objective is to supply the corporation’s vehicles to fight fires and wash vehicles with rainwater. This initiative further strengthened the outstanding position in sustainability of the 25th Battalion, which is already a model for other units of the corporation in the State in the environmental area.
In the first six months of the project, rainwater capture enabled the Gávea Quartel to save R$4,000.00 and an estimated 270,000 liters of water captured.
On the part of Tecnotri, this pioneering work was led by National Environmental Line Manager Fred Leite, who together with the battalion officers, led the project that today is a model for future installations and partnerships, bringing efficiency, savings and sustainability to the corporation’s day-to-day operations.
