In August 2021, the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo approved Law 356/2015, which makes the inclusion of a rainwater collection system mandatory in the architectural designs of new buildings belonging to the state. In turn, buildings already constructed must include the installation of this system in their future renovations.

The Law is an attempt to resolve the constant water crises that São Paulo faces, in addition to encouraging care for the environment. The measure comes into force with a series of other incentives already launched by the state, which include the capture of rainwater in schools and the obligation to wash residential sidewalks with reused water.

But do you know how this rainwater collection system is made? Check out the environmental and economic advantages of using it in condominiums and how the Tecnotri cisterns help in this process.

Advantages of reusing rainwater

water collection for washing sidewalks

The most correct rainwater collection system occurs through cisterns, which are reservoirs capable of storing rainwater. They can be on the surface of the earth or underground.

The water collected by cisterns is not potable, that is, it cannot be used for consumption. It is generally used in toilets, washing machines, washing sidewalks and watering gardens. This way, it is possible to reduce at least 50% of consumption on the condominium’s water bill.

Discover Tecnotri Vertical Cisterns

In addition to having a unique and modern design, Tecnotri’s vertical cisterns have three stages of rainwater filtration. The first blocks the passage of leaves and other larger waste. In the second stage, the water passes through a decanter. Then, a finer filter traps smaller dirt. Before reaching the end of the process, the water still passes through a chlorine barrier.

Tecnotri cisterns are compact and resistant, their shape allows them to fit into small spaces. They are recommended for public buildings already constructed that will need to adapt to the new state law.

With vertical cisterns, it is possible to avoid major excavation or space adaptation works. They do not need to be underground and are easily fit into small spaces, such as terraces, garages or hallways. Furthermore, they can be kept outdoors as they are resistant to adverse weather conditions.

Other advantages include structure made of virgin, non-toxic material, 100% recyclable, versatility and 10 year warranty. TheTecnotri cisterns are available in sizes 600, 750, 1,000 and 1,050 liters, or In other words, you can choose according to your needs.
